TITLE : Bose's notion of indistinguishability and its quantum counterpart: A comparison

ABSTRACT :

Starting from the notion of indistinguishability as developed by S N Bose in his historic paper of 1924, we present its formulation in the context of a quantum description of an assembly of N kinematically identical particles. The commonalities and differences between the possible statistics that arise are highlighted.
