TITLE : Hopfield: the Network and the Nobel

ABSTRACT :

We review the work that led to John Hopfield's 2024 Nobel Prize in Physics. We describe Hopfield Network's influence in understanding the brain function and in the recent emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI). We point out specific ways in which physicists can help understand the brain and contribute towards the next generation of AI.
