TITLE : Femtosecond and attosecond time-resolved spectroscopy

ABSTRACT :

I will provide a broad overview of key ideas leading to ultrafast measurements of matter on femtosecond and attosecond time scales. I will discuss the basic mechanism behind the generation of attosecond pulses of light, their characterization and how the attosecond pulses are used to probe electron dynamics in atoms with attosecond time resolution. Finally, I will show some emerging perspectives of attosecond physics and will touch upon attosecond research at IISER Mohali.
